Lane Stadium, Virginia Tech
Why GreenTech?
National Football Field of the Year
Virginia Tech had to replace their playing field -- within a short window of opportunity. Drainage had become a problem, even causing the team to cancel a game due to rain the year before.
What's more, flexibility was important, as the school knew they'd be expanding the south end zone in the near future. They had decided on a species of bermudagrass that can be difficult to grow and maintain in their climate.

The ITM™ Solution.
The GreenTech ITM™ system allowed the school to build and grow the field off-site, on an unused portion of a nearby airport tarmac. While stadium renovations were being completed, the roots had time to establish themselves.
The healthy new field was installed in just four days.
The next step? A heating system has been added, to prevent winterkill and maintain the bermudagrass.
